In Battlefields...the story of war—any twentieth-century or twenty-first-century war and its often tragic aftermath. It is the story of Jody Alvarez, told mostly in his own, often disjointed, words as he struggles to deal with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and what he and his therapist, Miguel McConnell, call his badly miswired brain.

Battlefields is also the story of Jody's coming to terms with death—which he must witness firsthand—including the traumatic death of Hobie, the only friend Jody has ever had.

What Goes Around, a work of historical fiction, recounts the events leading up to the death of Harold, king of England, at the Norman Conquest led by his cousin and arch rival William, Duke of Normandy. Such events include Harold’s visits to the Norman coast; his friendship with Edward the Confessor, then King of England; and his attempts to counter the Duke’s attempts to bully his way to the English throne. What Goes Around, although fiction is solidly based upon the real-life encounters between Harold and William, his power-hungry cousin across the English Channel.

The novel includes as well an examination of another character, a twentieth century “boat-builder,” Harry Godwin, his adventures on the Pacific coast and his eventual and fateful encounter with Harold at the Bayeux tapestry.

It was a time when the Piute Indians were facing their greatest challenge: the onslaught of white settlers along the stretches of roadway from Lone Pine to Bridgeport.
